Why I'm returning Apple's FineWoven cases

I was pleased to hear the rumours Apple were dropping leather cases from their lineup this year. The leather were premium quality and looked great......when new. Trouble was I never liked the patina they developed over time, which is why I always opted for a dark colour. usually black or more recently midnight.
So when Apple announced their new FineWoven cases I was keen to get hold of some. I went for the Mulberry and Taupe. Taupe is a lighter colour I never would chosen previously.
I reviewed those cases with the FineWoven MagSafe wallet. My initial thoughts were they were good enough, comparable in terms of a premium feel to the leather. I quickly changed my view once my new iPhone arrived and I actually started to use the cases.
I can't get on with the way the cases feel when fitting them to the iPhone, they sound and feel very much like plastic. Taking them off is even worse. The creaking noise makes it feel like you're damaging the iPhone, at best like the case is a cheap knock off.
Using the iPhone with one of these cases in my case at least causes my hands to sweat which is all kinds of bad. I haven't scratched either of the cases although reports online of finger nail scratches being permeant are easy to find.
There are a lot of customers somewhat unimpressed with Apple's new offerings. Were these cases £20, maybe. But they're absolutely not worth £59 so back they go. My hope is that Apple quickly realise these cases aren't up to their usual standard and drops them in favour of something more durable and less cheap feeling. The silicone cases are just the same as previous versions.
Thank you for reading.
